Captain Morgan
Captain Morgan was a prominent figure of the 17th century, born into a wealthy Welsh family. He left behind a life of safety and prosperity for the adventurous and thrilling life of a pirate. He conquered the entire Caribbean and plundered numerous Spanish galleons and treasure-laden ships, leading to his appointment as the governor of Jamaica by the British Crown. It was on the island of Jamaica that Captain Morgan began crafting his legendary and essential drink.
Captain Morgan rum has been produced since 1680, following the Captain's original recipe. The Spiced Gold variant, known for its unique flavor profile, was introduced to the market in the United States in 1983.
